“Oral testosterone replacement therapy, once avoided due to liver concerns, is now a safe and effective option. Newer formulations bypass liver metabolism, and real-world experience confirms their safety.

This therapy benefits men who prefer non-invasive options, dislike messy gels, or experience elevated red blood cell counts from other TRT methods. The main considerations include a twice-daily regimen with food and a higher cost, as it is currently only available as brand-name Kyzatrex. A low-dose version for women is not yet approved.

As with many of our treatments, I have personally experimented with oral testosterone and found it highly effective, achieving testosterone levels equivalent to what I maintain with injections. That said, I still prefer the convenience of injections a couple of times per week over the twice-daily oral regimen.”
